Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) Information: History and Facilities
Marseille Provence Airport has a long history and originated in 1934, when it was little more than a small aerodrome serving the region. Both cargo traffic and civilian passenger flights soon began to increase, meaning that expansions and modernisations have been necessary many times over the year. Today, Marseille Provence Airport has grown to become one of the leading airports in the whole of France, with two long runways connecting around 100 different destinations.

Onsite at Provence Airport are a number of shops, spread around the halls and floors, with gifts available at the Découvrir la Provence and Relay outlets, and duty-free products on sale at the Espace Shopping Aéroboutique. A variety of restaurants and bars are also on hand, such as the Café des Iles, Marseille's very own Cafés Debout, Brasserie Flo and Bar Flo, along with Internet kiosks and Wi-Fi Internet access.

Business travellers visiting Marseille Provence Airport will find the air-conditioned Business Centre situated in Hall 4. Private offices and meeting rooms are available at the centre, offering facilities such as catering, Minitel and Internet access, while several lounges are also spread around the airport, including the spacious Panoramique Lounge, which overlooks the runways and offers great views of the aircraft.
